OLIVE LIEFELD grew up in Seattle, Washington and accepted the Lord at 10 years of age.

She and Peter Fleming attended the same church and became good friends in Olive’s teen years. She went to the University of Washington while Pete completed his Master’s Degree in 1951 and within a few months he left for the jungles of Ecuador with Jim Elliot.

After two and half years in the jungles Pete returned to Seattle to married Olive in June of 1954 and she returned with him to Ecuador. A year later the “Auca” Indians were found and “Operation Auca” began.
